Description
John Wiley Surfactants and Polymers in Aqueous Solution 1998 Edition by B. Lindman, K. Holmberg, Etc., B. Kronberg, Bertil Jonsson
Surfactants are molecules which have two parts: a hydrophilic part which attracts water molecules and a hydrophobic part which attracts organic molecules such as grease and oil. Polymers are very large organic molecules which can act as surfactants. This title is loosely based on an annual course given by the authors since 1992, attended by 25 people from the industry. It covers all aspects of the subject, from fundamental properties of surfactants to molecular interactions in aqueous solution and advanced numerical models of describing the behaviour of surfactants and polymers in solution. These are important areas as evidenced by the range of applications which surfactants in solution find, ranging from paints and detergents to food-stuffs and pharmaceuticals.
