This text covers the pole assignment problem, one of the major topics of control systems theory. Many existing results in the literature together with several late-1990s results are introduced using a common notation. Interval uncertainties, which can arise from uncertainties in the physical parameters of systems, are also considered in the book, and robust pole assignment methods, which reduce the effects of such uncertainties, are suggested.
