An Illustrated Guide to Wild Agarics of Haryana is an addition to books about the mushroom biota of India. This is the first compilation containing taxonomic information about lamellate mushrooms existing in the natural habitats of the state of Haryana. It includes detailed descriptions of 51 agaric species encountered in the three districts Panchkula, Ambala, and Yamunanagar. These species belong to the three orders of the class Agaricomycetes, namely Polyporales, Agaricales and Russulales. Each species has been illustrated and taxonomically described and field photographs of sporocarps, photomicrographs and line drawings are provided in the guide for better understanding of the individual taxon. Information about the edibility and medicinal value of these species are also discussed in the book wherever possible. The exact collection localities and their altitudinal range have been mentioned. In addition to this, identification keys of the documented taxa to their respective orders, families, genera, and species have also been provided. This compilation will be of immense use to students, teachers and researchers to identify the mushrooms included here.
