    Description

New Age International (P) Ltd., Publishers Environmental Pollution Analysis by Prof. S M Khopkar

This book was published almost two decades ago. Since then there had been tremendous progress in the field of environmental sciences. This necessitated revision of this book. Initially only principles of analysis were presented in the text. However with the inclusion of the environmental studies in the schools and colleges including various postgraduate programmes, and the need of carrying out actual experiments in the laboratory, it was felt most essential to include working of experiments with details of procedures. In view of this need, this new revised and enlarged edition consists of as many as 25 experiments in air pollution and more than 70 experiments in water pollution characterization, have been included. These experiments contain information right from preparation of solutions until the actual analytical procedure and interpretation of data procured. The experiments related to microbiological examination of the water have also been included. In all, more than 8 new chapters have been added pertaining to theory and practical aspects of air and water pollution, so that a reader does carry out experiments not only mechanically but also he has good grasp and comprehension of principles involved in such analysis. The book in its new version should be very useful for graduated and postgraduate programmes in environmental pollution practicals. It would also be useful for practising environmental scientists.
