The present book Dramatic World of Arthur Miller : A Critical Evaluation is a comprehensive study of near about fifteen plays of Arthur Miller including his three most famous ones All My Sons, Death of a Salesman and The Crucible. The volume consists of eleven analytical chapters presenting a profound insight into the historical background and development of American drama through different Ages along with Miller’s contribution to it. Through his number of plays, separately analysed in different chapters of the book, he raised various issues like adverse effects of World Wars on the psyche of common American, consequences of the era of Great Depression, failure of the concept of American dream, degrading moral values, growing bitterness in inter personal relationships etc. and tried to present them on stage with the effective and innovative use of modern dramatic techniques so that he could successfully establish the ethics of an individual’s commitment towards his social responsibilities.
