Description
Research Studies Decision Support Systems for Tele-Medicine Applications 2004 Edition by G-P. Economou
Economou (network operations, The Hellenic Open U.) proposes a new decision support system to use when dealing with data from a variety of sources and disciplines. He uses a combination of artificial neural networks (ANNs) in a flexible structure to process data with a minimum of pre-processing, an architecture eminently suited to patient-centered medical information systems. Economou describes ANNs, decision support systems (DSSs) including those specific to medicine, ANN learning procedures, and applying the DSS to a specific task, in this case tele-medicine. He includes a chapter on future work and appendices on the medical DSS demo, type libraries, and software. Distributed by AIDC. Annotation ©2004 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
